Start with the supplier file you actually receive
Wix includes a native CSV importer for files prepared in its expected format. A supplier catalog may arrive with different column names, extra trade prices or unfamiliar stock values. FeedPup helps you review those supplier fields and match them to product information before importing. The accompanying video explains that workflow, including the important difference between uploading a file and connecting a feed URL.
Ask your supplier for a recent CSV and, if you need recurring updates, a stable hosted CSV link. Check that each row includes a product identifier you can keep using. A useful starting sample contains ordinary products and a few difficult cases: an item without an image, a zero-stock item and a product with options. Keep the original file available for comparison.
Choose a snapshot or a source that can refresh
Open FeedPup for your connected Wix store and choose the appropriate source. Upload CSV when you want to import the contents of a file on your computer. That upload is a snapshot. If the supplier sends a revised file tomorrow, the original upload does not change automatically.
Choose a supplier URL when the supplier maintains the CSV at an accessible web address. With a supported hosted source and eligible plan, FeedPup can check that address again for later changes. Confirm that the link returns the catalog itself rather than a sign-in page or a temporary download. Keep private access details out of public screenshots and product descriptions.
Analyze the CSV and inspect the sample values
Run the source analysis and review the detected columns. Look at the values as well as the headers: a field named “price” might contain wholesale cost, recommended retail or a discounted amount. Check that names are readable, decimal values are interpreted correctly and product codes retain meaningful leading zeros.
- Match the stable supplier item code to SKU.
- Match the customer-facing name to the product title.
- Choose the intended selling-price column.
- Match inventory to the supplier's actual quantity or supported availability value.
- Review image URLs and option information where present and supported.
Do not use a product title as the identifier simply because it looks distinctive. Suppliers can revise titles, and two products can share a name. Consistent identifiers make it possible to recognize the same item on a later run. Check for duplicate codes in the source and possible collisions with unrelated products already in Wix.
Preview the catalog before starting an import
Use the product preview to compare a small set of records with the CSV. Check the final name, SKU, price, stock and images together. A plausible title does not prove that the price or quantity came from the correct column. If options appear in the feed, review their names and choices instead of assuming the importer will infer every relationship.
Correct mapping problems at this stage and check the current import allowance inside FeedPup. Use the available test workflow before proceeding with a larger catalog. Review any warnings and the intended product status, especially if your goal is to inspect products before customers see them.
Verify the result in Wix Store Products
Wait for the import result, then open Wix Store Products and search for the same SKUs. Compare several items with the source, including one of the difficult examples you selected. Inspect the image, price, inventory, options and storefront visibility. The destination product record is the place to confirm what was actually created.
Keep later changes under control
For ongoing updates, use the hosted feed and review which fields FeedPup may manage. Complete the required initial import and check the schedule included with your plan. Supplier changes may take time to appear. After a run, read sync history and verify an affected product in Wix. If you chose a file upload, provide a new file when you want to import a later snapshot.
