Install FeedPup for Joomla

FeedPup reads a supplier XML feed, or a CSV file you upload, and can create or update simple products in HikaShop. You review the field mapping before the first write. The Joomla component only connects the shop. The feed, the mapping and the sync schedule stay on FeedPup.

The installable component is com_feedpup. In the Joomla administrator it is listed as FeedPup, under Components. The package is GPL-2.0-or-later. The hosted FeedPup service is separate software and is billed separately.

Plans

Joomla plans are billed every 3 months or once a year. There is no monthly price. In the FeedPup app, checkout currently starts the yearly plan. 3-month billing is being added to in-app checkout; email contact@weareplano.gr to be moved to it when it is live.

The Free test does not expire. It can create up to 100 products as unpublished drafts, and it does not run a schedule. A full catalog import and scheduled price and stock updates need Starter or Growth. Starting a paid plan includes one 14-day trial for that store. The card is collected at checkout.

Requirements

The component installs even when HikaShop is missing. Connecting is what checks the shop. FeedPup refuses the pairing code unless HikaShop reports Business 6.6.0 or later, the device has write access, and the chosen operator can view and manage products.

1. Download

Download com_feedpup-1.0.1.zip. Do not rename the file. The update server for later versions is updates.xml.

2. Install

  1. In Joomla Administrator, open System, then Install, then Extensions.
  2. Upload the zip file.
  3. Open Components, then FeedPup.

The FeedPup screen explains that the component only connects the shop. The supplier feed is added after you open FeedPup.

3. Check HikaShop

In HikaShop Business, open System, then App Devices. Create a pairing code with read and write access. The operator on that device needs permission to view and manage products. The code looks like AB12-CD34. It works once and expires in a few minutes. If it expires, create another code. Do not send a Joomla administrator password to FeedPup.

4. Connect

  1. On the FeedPup component screen, check the HikaShop Connector API URL. It must be a public https:// address with no query string.
  2. Paste the pairing code.
  3. Choose Connect to FeedPup.

When the connection succeeds, the screen says the shop is connected and shows Open FeedPup. That opens the FeedPup service in a new tab. Disconnect leaves products that were already written in HikaShop. Disconnect from the component before you uninstall it, so the hosted link is removed as well. Uninstalling the component does not delete HikaShop products.

5. Add a supplier feed

In FeedPup, add the supplier. An XML feed is connected by its URL. A CSV or TSV file can be uploaded. An uploaded file is a snapshot: FeedPup can import it, and it does not schedule later syncs. Scheduled sync is only for a supplier URL, and only on Starter or Growth.

6. Map the fields

FeedPup reads a sample and shows the fields it recognised. You confirm the mapping before products are written. Price and stock come from the mapped columns. Growth can also map supplier category paths to HikaShop categories. Category mapping is not included on the Free test or Starter plans.

7. Run the first import

On the Free test, the import creates up to 100 products and leaves them unpublished. A paid plan can import the catalog up to that plan’s product cap and can publish those products. Nothing is written until you start the import.

8. Synchronize

Starter syncs a supplier URL once a day. Growth syncs every 6 hours. The Free test has no schedule. Each run updates products FeedPup already created. A product is recognised by its SKU together with the marker FeedPup stored on that product. If the shop already has the same SKU on a product FeedPup did not create, FeedPup leaves that product unchanged and does not add a second copy.

9. What a sync writes

The run result lists what was created, what was updated, and any product that could not be written, with the reason.

10. Products with variants

FeedPup for HikaShop imports products that do not have options. A supplier product with variants is not created. A HikaShop product that already has variants is not updated. Nothing from that product is half-written: no partial price, stock or child row. The import report includes the reason. Variant attributes, variant prices, variant stock and variant SKUs are not available in version 1.0.1.

If something fails

Joomla prices are the 3-month and yearly amounts in the plan table. The pricing page lists monthly prices for other platforms. It is not the Joomla price list.

Support is at feedpup.weareplano.gr/support. Email contact@weareplano.gr. The Joomla Extensions Directory listing is not linked here until it is public.
